The support of a skilled birth doula has been shown to not only improve birth outcomes, but to facilitate a positive, peaceful birthing environment for women in labor. With my support, you will gain the confidence and knowledge you need to birth your baby the way you envision it.
Prenatally, we will explore your birthing choices, any concerns you or your partner have, discover coping strategies and comfort measures that work for you, and create a birth plan. At your birth, I will support you and your partner physically and emotionally, help you navigate your birthing choices, and help promote a soothing environment. I'll stay a couple hours after the birth to make sure you are comfortable and that breastfeeding and/or bonding are taking place with your precious baby. Finally, we will meet once in the postpartum to make sure you're adjusting well to life with baby.
